When you
- purchase a royalty free music, sound effects or production elements product from Sound Ideas
- or make use of our products in a networked environment,
your use of our products is governed by the applicable End User License. What's the difference between our products and
their End User Licenses? Here's a quick explanation:
Sound Effect Products:
All of Sound Ideas' Sound Effect products are sold on a royalty free buyout basis, and a lifetime synchronization license
(as described in the Sound Ideas End User Agreement and the Hanna-Barbera
& Turner Sound Effects End User License Agreement) is included with your purchase. Mechanical rights are not included
in the purchase of this synchronization license - and therefore except as specifically identified in the Sound Ideas and Hanna-Barbera
& Turner Sound Effects End User License Agreements, you are not authorized to copy our sound effects - they must be synchronized
within your productions.
Performing rights are not applicable to public broadcast or performance of sound effects. Contact
Sound Ideas for more details.
Royalty Free Music Products:
All of Sound Ideas' Royalty Free Music products (like the Mix Music Library and the Mix Signature Collection), are sold on
a royalty free buyout basis, and a lifetime synchronization license (as described in the Sound
Ideas End User Agreement) is included with your purchase. Mechanical Rights (the right to copy the music), are not included with your purchase of our Royalty Free music (except as specifically identified in the Sound Ideas End User License Agreement) - thus you are not authorized to copy our Royalty Free music - it must be synchronized within your productions. Contact
Sound Ideas for more details.
Performing Rights for public broadcast and/or performance music use are not included in the purchase of Sound Ideas' royalty free music products. You should therefore report your music use to your local Performing Rights Society, so that Performing Rights revenue can be paid to the music's composer(s) and publisher(s). More details are provided on this Web site's FAQ
page, and a blank Cue Sheet is available for your use.
Networked or Multi-User Environments:
Sound Ideas' products are sold with the understanding that you will synchronize selected sounds directly into your productions.
Because computers are such an important tool in modern production houses, we specifically allow the copying or re-recording
of our sounds to a single computer workstation that will not be networked or accessed by more than one end user at a time.
However, the use of our sounds in a networked or multi-user environment (2 or more workstations) is not authorized unless
you have received permission directly from Sound Ideas. If you are considering copying or re-recording Sound Ideas' Products
to a hard drive or other medium - or if you have already done so - please consult our Hard Disk
Information Sheet or contact Sound Ideas for more information.
Custom Licensing:
Custom licenses that permit use of our products in an unsynchronized format for a variety of different products are available. These applications include:
-
use of our sound effect or music tracks as samples in software packages
-
use of our sound effect or music tracks in retail toys
-
use of our sound effect or music tracks in electronic sampling equipment or program chips
-
use of our sound effects as telephone ring tones
If you are working on a project that would benefit from the inclusion of unsynchronized sound effect or music tracks, please visit our Ring Tone Content page or contact us at info@sound-ideas.com.
Fight Piracy & Copyright Infringement:
We encourage you to join us in the fight against software piracy and copyright infringement. For more details about the efforts made by Sound Ideas in this regard, please see our Fight Piracy & Copyright Infringement page.
